The male ruby throated hummingbird is smaller than the female. The birds are very territorial and will try to chase others away when they are feeding. The birds feed on average every ten minutes. One of their favorite flowers is the scarlet beebalm. If you are patient, you may be treated to their appearance in your flower garden. They are most beautiful but you must look fast.

My camera is never far from reach ...I have been making images for many years, and my eye is always looking for that special subject. I find myself also, "looking a little bit further", for that subject that can do "double-duty" ... both as a beautiful photograph ... and ... as an artistic rendition of that same subject.
